Dont be a slave

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Dont be a slave

Post by bkktrapper »

Lot of dodgy employers out there, did a few shifts in cooking and bar tending around Snooky, Koh rong and Otres and over heard the owner talking bout money in the 20000' USD + and slaving Barangs away for beer and food whilst they have monopolies around the city and island/outskirts worth 6 figures.

Dont work free unless its your good mates or someone starting up who needs a hand up , not some rich stingy asshole slaving people away in shit conditions

This is something Khmer- Chinese are good at.

Barangs from Singapore and elsewhere adapt quickly. Education is short-lived when the cage rules are changed.

Your choice, don't bitch about your decisions afterwards.
But why would you do "a few shifts" for jackshit? Why would you even work ONE shift for jackshit?
No one good at what they do works for free+beer+hammock. Tells me just how good you are at cooking and bartending
You just reinforced the idea to some dipshit that he doesn't have to pay to get monkeys.
Fukoff and leave it to the professionals little boy.

So, you accepted a job offer for beer and food and a hammock. Then you accepted another job offer for the same recompense and then, at least once more, you accepted the same terms again.
You obviously weren't happy from day 1,in hindsight, but it was some rich pricks fault, not yours?
And now you are whinging about it?
The old saying is "Once bitten, twice shy".
Apparently, you are a slow learner.
Stick to whatever it is you do, do it well, as well as you can, OWN IT!
If in the long run you aren't happy, then have the balls to say "FUKOFF" and leave.
But don't accept a job offer and afterwards say the terms weren't to your liking. It was YOUR choice unless someone twisted your arm or held a gun against your head.

No, do be a slave. Better still start a blog on how to live like a "king" in Snookie for less than $200... you'll be an internet "celebrity" along the lines of "No Joke - Howard".
