Does Cambodia secretly deport Western overstayers to Thailand without telling the Thais about the overstay?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Whether writing film scripts, radio plays, short science fiction stories, authoring respected books on the paranormal and South East Asian history, directing videos or writing about maritime disasters, or novels set in exotic locales, or narrating British-born Bob Couttie is first and foremost a storyteller, engaging his audience with humour and insight and scrupulous research.

He is also quite a good cook and a lifetime member of the Philippine National Historical Society.
After nearly 30 years in the Philippines He currently lives in Kampot, Cambodia working on his first full-length novel, Temple of the Leper King.

I think it would make sense if Thailand and Cambodia just reciprocally informed each other when they were planning to deport someone next door, and gave their neighbor a chance to refuse. That way Cambodia could avoid getting all the Thailand rejects, and vice versa.

Thailand scrutinizes many down and out Westerners and visa runners at borders and airports, you'd think they'd want to know. Even Cambodia scrutinizes Indians and Africans and demands to see cash up front from them, again I think they'd want to know if someone is getting deported from Thailand. A little cooperation here from both countries could keep them from being the place where down and out Westerners who end up costing them money turn up.

He also did not get any sort of 'deported' stamp on his passport and is now in Manila.

There is no way he paid his overstay costs - he didn't have 2 100 riel notes to rub together.
That may be true, but he had money to buy a ticket to the Philippines via Bangkok, and to change or re-buy that ticket when immigration detained him. Also, according to his very public Facebook page, he asked on his way to Manila "Does Lazada deliver COD to the Philippines" and then upon arrival he stood in a long line to change money. Maybe he's not as destitute as he led some people to believe.

Speculative shit? The story is true, I was joking that the multiple people I heard it from are totally unreliable. This site is full of news stories about overstayers being arrested, complete with names and photos. I don't recall those stories offending you. Yet when I post about a guy who got arrested but has not been featured in the news, and I even leave out his name, it's a condescending "shit topic" that's beneath discussion on CEO?

Didn't you publish his book? Great advertisement for you if your author doesn't have your support and couldn't even earn 200 Riel.

Come on, he didn't say the guy couldn't earn 200 riel. He said he didn't have 200 riel when he got arrested for overstay. Two totally different things.
