Doesn't make great reading, but Chinovac is 51% efficacious, as we all know, so that's about right. And 71% to 95% against hospitalisation/mortality, dependant on the variant or strain. They were possibly all mild cases of flu-like, even cold-esk, symptoms. The articles (2 examples below) covering Sihanovac side effects are weird, then again, so is everyone bar me, so tell me if I am missing something (regarding the reports, funny guy!) - like the rest of the stories - but I read; "there are side effects of Sinovac..." . And that's it! For fucking's sake, what are they? ?

This is the last article that I had read with a specific number. This was June 28 and the number was 10 doctors.

I have heard news reports that there is a higher number of nurses but I haven't read anything saying what the number is. Suspiciously, since the reports mid-late June there seems to have been a concerted effort to not be reporting on this. Given China's actions with Ukraine last week it wouldn't surprise me at all that Indonesia was told to keep quiet.

Sinovac has almost no publicly available data beyond what was released by countries where some of the trials took place. Keep in mind these trials were being done with the 1st version of Covid. I have read/listened to ESTIMATES/HYPOTHESIS/GUESSES from experts saying that given the known data from the other vaccines and the lab testing they have done with Delta - and their reduced effectiveness against the Delta variant that it is possible/likely that Sinovac is at best protection in terms of lowering the death rate if you get the Delta Variant of Covid. The range of what I've read goes from Placebo-like to less likely to die so better than nothing.

Regardless, Indonesia currently has a bad situation in certain parts of the country. And countries that have relied on Sinovac are definitely going to need booster shots and the sooner the better.
