Does anyone know where we can get one of the Covid vaccines in Cambodia?

I'm recruiting a translator. Registration = Lunch. Maybe she will go for it.
You also need to upload a photo (I presume this is ID) so have your passport handy.
Further to this issue, yesterday I managed to register for the vaccination. The process will require you to have to hand the following information beyond just your name and DOB etc:

Your passport Number; Your address: City - Khan - Sangkat and village number. If you are registered with the sangkat you'll find that number on the form.

You'll also be asked to select your employment/profession. I never really got to the bottom of this one, I put professional and teacher (which I am not) as my translator could not explain exactly what all the others were. We'll have to see how that one plays out. See image of the job descriptions below - if anyone can translate precisely then please do.

There is also a box which you can tick about if you have any illness'. If you have a bit of hypertension then you may qualify.

There is another box which asks about any allergies. I assume this is about allergic reactions. Leave that one blank.
Again, these boxes are shown below and if anyone wants to confirm or correct the translation I was given PLEASE DO SO.

Finally, when you hit the send button the spinning wheel comes up and never seems to go away. There is a box that comes up which I never got to the bottom of what it was, but I hit it anyway, and then the spinning stopped and it went back to a black form again.

I thought I was back to square one so I completed it all again, but this time when I hit the send button it was refused as my passport number and phone number box was then highlighted in red. I have taken this to mean that I am registered.

There has been no text to confirm that I am registered.

If anyone has any further or different experiences then please let us all know.

My partner (Khmer) who was with me, told me to just upload a photo of myself, which I did. But you've just made me realise - why would they want just a photo of my face? Of course it's probable a photo of your passport.

This morning there were about 200 people at the gate of the hospital , Prey Ang Dong on Norodom, and some one inside spoke to them through the gate in and most left. Half hour later only about 50 remained. Most of these where Khmer.

Maybe the crowd were told that they had to be registered. Only a guess as I don't speak Chinese or Khmer.

If a passport photo was required, why would they allow the form to be filled without it? All this presumes that when you go to get your jab, someone there will have all your details at their fingertips and will be making proper checks.

It does just say photo, but I just kind of assumed it means a photo-ID photo, rather than one of me looking butch, playful, kittenish or whatever.

For occupation I selected 'general population' at the bottom. Oh, and for my village/phum I selected Village 1 simply because I live 100m from the Sangkat office (close enough I would think). Chose that one in the FPCS app as well.

A friend and I tried to get vaccinated today at Preah Ang Duong and Calmette.

At PAD they insisted that we had to have a letter from our embassy and refused us on those grounds. They have a sign about this posted at the entrance. We called the Australian Embassy who told us that this was not official policy and had never been discussed and that to their knowledge no embassy was issuing these letters. Furthermore they said that they certainly did not wish to get involved in even indirectly recommending medical treatments for anyone. They said that there was a lot of discussion between different embassies and the Ministry of Health on this issue and that it might be resolved sometime in the future.

At Calmette, we had a letter from our employer (in lieu of a letter frm the embassy) and we made it through the first checkpoint and were issued a number. However after 10 mins of waiting someone came and said that our Employer had to contact the hospital chief to arrange it rather than us turning up with Employer letters. When I asked who the chief was, they insisted that our boss would know him - in other words if you are not so well connected that you don't know the hospital chief then you are not going to get vaccinated.. sort of like "if you need to ask the price of some expensive watch, then you cant afford to buy it"

So at present there seems to be no clear path for foreigners like me to being vaccinated. Both these requirements are almost Catch 22s. But until the misinformation about embassy letters is cleared up, I am not sure that there is much to do.

Of course these things may change but I think until there is another official annuncement abut foreigner vaccinations, I don't think it's worth to go to either of these two hospitals. Plenty of Khmer were being vaccinated while we were waiting but with what vaccine I dont know. Most of these seemed to come in large groups from government offices.

What scares me, with all the locals getting vaccinated and foreigners not, is that being vaccinated does not stop you from catching it and spreading it around. But try telling that to the locals. I personally know of three locals who have had their first jab, and are walking round without a care in the world, whereas before they would not be seen in public without a mask.

It's possible that it there may come a point where covid-19 is rampant throughout the country but nobody cares because most people have had the vaccine.

Leaving those that haven't much more vulnerable.
