Dave Does Cambodia needs your help

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Unless you plan on living past age 79, age 62 is a good time to start collecting, especially if you aren’t working.

I agree in this case , i’m sure it will be godsend , on down the road….

I'll sling him $10.

Much rather help him than see the meth heads wandering around PP naked or 1/2 naked. Not just street 172 either, they stagger around all areas of the city. A very depressing sight that the Police happily ignore.

Meth heads need deporting, not this chap.

I haven't noticed too many except for locals who can't be deported. And I have never given them money.

I saw many very recently. None Khmers.

Some naked, some shoeless, some checking out the contents of garbage cans, others yelping at the top of their voices.

Some river side, some near central market, some near street 310.

Really disturbing.

Dave Does Cambodia has been an Ebeggar since his arrival in Cambodia. He was originally pals with Aaron in Cambodia but they had a falling out, so he is no longer a source of funds. So this is not unexpected, this latest appeal for support. I suppose this is a relaxing lifestyle choice for some people.

There are several reasons for starting at 62.

Of course the most obvious reason is if you aren’t working and need money. Another reason is what you think your life expectancy may be.

The break even point for the amount of benefits from starting at 62 and 67 is almost 17 years.

The break even point between 62 and 70 is several years later, until your early to mid 80’s.

Then you have to concern yourself with Medicare, if you decide to apply for it, which you have to apply and pay for at age 65, whether you are collecting social security benefits or not. If you apply after 65 there is a pretty hefty penalty with higher premiums for life. There are only a few circumstances where you can wait until after 65 without the penalty.
