Darknet Cambodia News Forum: If you want access to the new section it's OPT-IN and you need to request it

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I beg to differ. It says so indeed about the contributing stuff but I have a feeling that - recently - anybody can have access.
No, nothing has changed...20+ contributing posts required for Darknet. In reviewing 'contributing' posts, we may exercise a bit of discretion, for example, if a member's 20+ posts are all on 1 topic only (say, non Cambodian related).

For VIP Nightlife, a member needs to get an existing VIP member to personally vouch for them to gain access.
There seems to be a small flurry of interest in Darknet access. I wonder if there’s an expectation of some deeply nasty stuff by the applicants, to be followed by disappointed expressions of
Is that it?
?

What exactly qualifies as contributory posts, though?

A one liner amounting to a “me too”, a single emoji, and a request for access pushing a post count over the threshold, for instance, don’t really cut the mustard, surely.
Yuh, every once in a while this topic does a phoenix and a number pile in.. not withstanding, a PM to a mod will usually do the trick too.

As to eligibility, I had a member request several months ago where his 20 posts were just one or two words or emoji and I had to politely request he come back with more substantial contributions. Maybe he was in a hurry for the gory pics or..

Always been shy of this forum since I have several friends who passed away and would have been featured. Don't think I'd be able to stop myself from looking :(

That being said, may I also have access?

Well there used to be plenty of gore in the good old days. Pick up any local rag and there were pages of dead people with bits missing, chopped up or turned into hamburger. It slowly got shifted online, and started looking embarrassing. So the pixelation became mandatory. Unfortunately this was taken too far. So nowadays every crime scene looks like a Mondrian painting. It's just not as interesting as when you could see all the horrifying details. I am bored with all those pastel colored squares myself, I miss all the savage wounds that had an impact. Fuck censorship.

things change

Fuck censorship
Fuck being political corrective as well

My opinion
I feel that the world we have left for our kids, will never be as good as the world we grew up in
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
