If you go to the guys on street 107 just down from the Capitol bus station they are pretty good and inexpensive for repair, not much English spoken though.one_dolla wrote: ↑Fri Aug 24, 2018 11:33 am worn out mountain bike. can anyone recommend a place in Phnom Penh that can overhaul eg new bearings, gears chain etc? not looking for high priced/high quality parts budget stuff it good enough otherwise as well getting a new bike - where's best place for that budget under $500 for a new one

As for a new one there are quite a lot of options for that price - for more budget you'll see a lot on and around that street, higher end, Flying Bikes on 51/200 or the giant shops on 294.

I would say he's probably after the guys on St 107 near Orussei Market
Flying Bikes will be much more expensive, something he said he doesn't need
OP: get a Khmer fined to write down what you want done in Khmer and ask for the price BEFOREHAND
Check everything before paying

Re: Cycle Repair - or new bike...
thanks all I have an idea of spares at reasonable prices in the Khmer Sihanoukville of old a chain was $4 a rear 7 speed freewheel either $4 or $9 brake blocks for both wheels $2.50.... cables $1..tyres $4 inner tubes $2.... I'm sure locals would pay less but at those rates not bothered... guess I might be off to 107 street soon...I seen the advert for the $315 bike not bad anyway thanks again

And dont forget,, you will have to pay extra for the training wheels you need to go with that bike.

I bought one it's a great bike I'm going to build a 48v1000w electric bike with it and it meets all the requirements (nice fat tires, dual disc brakes, 135cm rear dropout width,7 speed freewheel, and plenty of room for down tube battery placement)one_dolla wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 7:57 am thanks all I have an idea of spares at reasonable prices in the Khmer Sihanoukville of old a chain was $4 a rear 7 speed freewheel either $4 or $9 brake blocks for both wheels $2.50.... cables $1..tyres $4 inner tubes $2.... In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
