This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I am not a troll. I don't think I am at least. I can tell you that I have never blogged before (that's what this is right?). I am not trying to do anything intentional. I can say however that this whole process seems to have a therapeutic value of some sort although I don't know why. Probably the anonymity of it all.

Yes I put a tile floor in my 50$ house. I split it with the owner. I was in a hotel which was very nice for 300 per month and renting a moto at 250 per month. I came to the decision to buy a moto for 1400 and rent this house in her village for 50. Looked nice from the outside. Dirt floor on the inside. Had to do it. I dropped 800 on everything in the end but we have been there (well just her and her family now) for a year so the math makes sense. I also wanted the experience of living in the village.

I admit I am a little weird, no argument there, but I am not crazy and not violent. Perhaps I am a little eccentric except I don't have the cash to qualify for eccentric. I was teaching for some time as a volunteer and I liked it. I was more nervous my first day with my class, then I was participating in first my day of combat. That's the truth. I had 14 kids ages 6-16. I am good at teaching. I am intelligent and can be quite professional when I want to be.

$250 for a moto? A Baja or a Dream? It's been a good few years since I rented a scooter, but I recall them being closer to $50 a month.

He sounds kinda normal to me.

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

200-250$ for a 250cc is a pretty good price

Ah ok, going after someone with a machete is not violent in your books then?
Believing that you died already is not crazy then?

The prevention of the commission of a crime warrants armed intervention. He says he saw a dude prospecting a girl, he says alone. SR is a poor area. Never let pedophilia "just happen."

To me, it's a sign of responsibility. Draw the line, dude.

Don't know about the machete, though. **I would caution against over-vigilance, perhaps.**

Simon43, metaphor does NOT imply "craziness."
Don't you know that already?

he lived in a small village NOT Siem Rep.
what was a 70 year old guy doing there?

I see visions of an uptight dude getting uptight over another dude's posts. Am I crazy here?.

He was in a dangerous occupation. People get injured there, even to the head, yes.

Can you humor him a bit, without attacking his sanity? It's doing my head in, your ad hominem attacks.

We can verify later.

Hey Smart Ass get from behind the pulpit and down from the soapbox. Pompous fluff doesn't fly.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.
