Re: Cute Indonesian Girl Rocking Out in a Hijab!
Sorry, could you quote me where I said they should be uncovered? I said it is impossible to say anyone is cute if they are almost completely covered. I also said that this is a result of male dominance. Take away the male dominance and let them have real freedom of choice. If there was real freedom of choice, then why are non Muslim women not wearing the niqab or burka? Do you cover yourself up in a niqab, hijab or burka? I doubt it very much. It is only Muslim women who do so and it is not a religious thing.violet wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 4:28 pmAre you not attempting to dominate women also by saying they should be uncovered?TOG wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 4:24 pmMy first reply to this simply disappeared (seems to happen a few time lately).
How can anyone call this girl cute when nearly all of her body (face and hands excepted) is covered up.
She may be a hideous freak for all we know.
Simply the Muslim male way of dominating their females. If covering up is so good, why don't the men also cover themselves?
Yes, there is what's normal and acceptable dominating her choices, as there are with any person's anywhere. I find, much to my surprise, that right this minute i side with the women who say shut up about what women should and shouldn't wear.
I would agree with you if these women actually had freedom of choice but they don't. They are brainwashed from birth.
I worked for over 8 years in the Middle East in the Oman and the Yemen. I have never met a girl or woman who given the choice would wear the niqab or burka. The hijab is acceptable to some but the vast majority wanted freedom of choice but could not voice their opinions in front of Muslim men.

Read your own post. "considered to have more rights and freedom compared to women elsewhere in the Arab World". In other words, Muslim men dominate their women.Jamie_Lambo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 4:51 pm shes from Lebanon, where women arent suppressed...Islam in Indonesia is similar tooLebanese women are considered to have more rights and freedom compared to women elsewhere in the Arab World. Women in Lebanon are able to dress more liberally and move around with relative ease in certain parts of the country, unlike other countries in the region. Lebanese women enjoy almost equal civil rights as men.you have a narrow minded viewTo a significant degree, the striking variations in the practice and interpretation of Islam — in a much less austere form than that practiced in the Middle Eastern communities — reflect Indonesia's Island lifestyle.
Indonesian Muslimah (female Muslim) do enjoy social, education and career freedom, significantly greater than their counterparts in Saudi Arabia or Iran. It is normal, socially acceptable and safe for a female Muslim to go out, drive, work or study in some mixed environs independently without any male relative chaperone. Women's higher employment rate is also an important difference between Indonesian and Middle Eastern cultures
"Indonesian Muslimah (female Muslim) do enjoy social, education and career freedom, significantly greater than their counterparts in Saudi Arabia or Iran". In other words, they still do not have complete freedom of choice as the Muslim male does.
You are defending the indifendible.
My point is quiet simple. Muslim men dominate their women and there is not equality. Mulsim women do not make the laws or have complete freedom of choice. Give them complete equality and see what happens.

you could flip it, if i wanted to go out completely naked id be arrested, wheres my freedom of choice? dont get me wrong, the burka i find ridiculous and is at the extreme of me wanting to go out naked, but to say women who willingly wear the hijab, for example Mia Khalifa who lives in America, dont have a choice, and is brainwashed?TOG wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 4:55 pmSorry, could you quote me where I said they should be uncovered? What about Ms Khofifah Indar Parawansa??
Khofifah Tegistha Indar Parawansa (born 19 May 1965) is an Indonesian politician who served as the 27th Minister of Social Affairs. She resigned from the position in January 2018 in order to run in the East Java gubernatorial election.
She had previously served as the fifth Minister for Female Empowerment, as well as the chairwoman of the Family Planning Board in the National Unity Cabinet, and was also a former Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives. She was the first member of parliament who gave formal critical speech toward Soeharto regime, highlighting 1997 General Election fraud during 1998 General Session of People's Consultative Assembly.
She was elected chairwoman of the Muslimat, an Islamic women's group affiliated to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), for the 2000-2005 period, and reelected three times, most recently in 2016 for the 2016-2021 period

No that shit happens when egos matter most. I used to think people were greedy for money. Now i realise they are greedy for control and power, and money is the strongest tool to achieving that, along with untethered egotism/sociopathy
