This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Custom shoes in Phnom Penh

Post by StroppyChops »

I have criticised the quality of hand-made shoes in Cambodia in the past, based on personal experience.

Now, to be fair, kudos to a family company that produces good quality custom shoes at a fair price. I saw some leather shoes (on rubber soles) at a market recently, and ordered a custom pair as I have wide feet. I ordered the business-level Jesus-sandals (naturally) at $25 and they were delivered today at no extra charge.

No, haven't heard of them.

The first pair of shoes I had made in Cambodia were made from elephant hide. I didn't discover this until much later, and made sure I got every ounce of wear out of them.

I have bought 3 pairs from them over the last 4years. They last for 1-1.5years. Depending how often you wear them, can't complain for that price =)

Any chance of a photo of the $25 Jesus-sandals?

Yeah, tomorrow (they're outside the front door already) - remind me if I forget.

I've just ridden along a dusty street wearing these, so they don't look as good in the photos as they actually are...
