Curtains closing for Phnom Penh?

I've been wondering about that as well, a huge property, maybe the owner is waiting for the right time to cash in. It will be worth a shitload of money..
That whole corner was demolished a few months ago.
Yeah gonna be a boutique hotel i heard, a relative of the big mans.

Anyone know what happened to the family who used to camp outside? The older lady seemed to run all the street beggar activity, her younger daughter was an expert hustler, the older one had turned to meth and there was the mad old man dressed in Army fatigues who was sober for about 30 mins a day. Where did they move on to?

ha ha quite the prophecy, 3 years on and still dead land. I was down that way for the first time in a long time and saw it still fenced off, nothing going on, a bit of hammering and drilling.

I used to like Equinox, the odd good live band but in the afternoons a nice quiet retreat from the madness. nice courtyard bar and good staff.

Shame that it all went to shit over a landlords greed, which would be fine if he had actually done something with it. iirc rent was around $1,800 so the prick has lost out on over $65k since it shut

Well I heard the slur bar was sold on to someone for around the $100,000 mark and pretty soon fell apart - some guy was looking for a manager/business partner as they were struggling 6 months into the sale, 4 months later around 2016 it closed for good. All told through its many refits and sales it was reckoned around $250k-$300k had been lost on that venture between all involved - looks like its a hotel or block of flats now. the only person who did well was the first owner who sold in the boom time when people would pay stupid money for a business then suddenly find 1 year in that the new rental terms wiped out any hope of a profit. As i said in the bakery thread there are only multinationals who can afford the high rents - that and people washing dirty money a la the 174 german guy and a few others who have invested in some once legendary bars in town.

I have watched every interesting major sports event for the past years at Score. Did you confuse it with another place? I think you meant to say Slur bar.
