Cultural Appropriation (burritos)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Perhaps the Chinese can sue the Italians for stealing noodles and calling the spaghetti.
You could be next.

All the fish and chip shops in Oz are run by Greeks and Italians, or at least they used to be. Probably taken over by Indians now.

Greeks, Turks and sometimes Chinese in the UK. The Indians all do fried chicken shops when not making curries nobody in India eats.

Not sure why the guy in the article had a dig at Mexicans, as they weren't the ones complaining. Portland does seem to have a lot of race issues.

Chinese families took over most Melbourne fish and chip shops in the '00s. I guess the kids of the Greek and Italian families that ran them didn't want to spend 7 days a week elbow deep in chip oil like their parents.
The chinese couldn't cook a bloody (culturally appropriated) Aussie dim sim to save their life..

Many now closed, last time I went back. Fish and chips aren't on-trend nowadays. Class-appropriation is in though. You'll find $45 versions on menus all over the place.

Jim Goad has been writing pretty much what he likes since the Answer Me! magazines he produced in the early 90s. He thrives on controversy, some of his stuff is funny though.
