Couple of days by the sea

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Couple of days by the sea

Post by Birdy »

I know Sihanoukville is a shithole but is there anywhere left to stay, possible Otres that hasn’t been destroyed.Used to stay at Sokha hotel many years ago but I hear that’s terrible now.
Don’t really want to travel to the Islands just for a 2 night break with the kids if we don’t have to..
Suggestions please plus hotel/guest house recommendations?
Thanks🙂

Phuket, Karon or Kata, second choice, Krabi, Ao Nang or Ralley. Lastly Phi Phi Islands is okay if you dont mind the lack of space.

Is that another vote for a Negative Karma button?

I will head down to Otres with my family for two nights this week. We are in the mood to see the ocean. I have not been for a long while, but a colleague was recently there and had only positive things to say. There seem to be some decent hotels too. I am going to risk it.

Report back on your findings. I am looking for a weekend escape too. SNK has a bad rap so a bit of balance would help.
