Corrugated iron

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Is corrugated iron or custom-orb available anywhere here and if so, where?

Of course corrugated iron is available here...have you not noticed all the houses in the poorer parts of the cities and in the provinces with walls and/or roofs constructed out of it.

I can't give you a precise location, often see it available at homeware/construction material stores, show a picture to a tuk-tuk/motodop and they will know.

This seems to be the problem.....no one can give me a precise location and all me searches here in Scenic ville have been fruitless. It would seem an easy question but I'm coming up with nothing. Hence the post....

I have seen a place with lots of old roofing iron for sale, but my memory fails to recall exactly where it was.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Have you tried showing an example or picture to any locals? Usually this is the best method to find anything that you are having trouble locating yourself in Cambodia.

Yes mate and at the steel suppliers too. The closest I've been able to come is Bluescope through Thailand but I'm hoping to avoid that.

The stuff is available everywhere, though I think it's actually zinc. Comes in different thicknesses and can also have some insulation attached to it. Any roofing shop will have some. You can check out ISI near Monireth, though they're a pricier than others.

I would have thought any Cambodian builder would be able to tell you where to buy it

Maybe you need to try asking some builders, or go to someones house who has used it and ask them...trust me, and others, corrugated iron is readily available in Cambodia.

ISI don't do corrugated, or so they tell me here. I'm happy to go to PP to source it if I have to but I'd just like to be sure I can get it if I come.
