I retract my previous words. That looks pretty cool. And no your personal attacks were not necessary indeed. Good night.

I don't get your 'beef' at all, it seems quite unenlightened.
The place looks fantastic, well done.
It doesn't seem particularly original though, or even well adapted, but that's my opinion.
The fact you've documented the build and opened up to visitors is commendable, but of course, except for your friends, they are visiting to borrow ideas, not just to laud you.
if someone had copied a new widget you'd designed, that you hoped would make a fortune, I would agree with your complaint, but this is just a house.
What perturbs you about copying, that someone is 'stealing from you' or the fact that your creation is no longer unique?

Seriously? Is that the best whinge you could come up with? Keep your fukn first world problems to yourself mate. Its an ok looking house, but nothing all that flash compared to what you see in Torquay or Byron Bay or Noosa AND its not like you designed it yourself. Go and buy yourself an automatic watchwinder to bitch about FFS.

He's an architect? From what I've seen posted on the Kampot groups I figured he was just trying to make dollars on the current land frenzy with tiny houses downloaded from the sketchup 3D warehouse crammed onto tiny plots.whiteribbon wrote:Come on Miss Ira, I'm not new here. I know copying is common. Just didn't expect it to happen by a young French architect who should have fresh ideas by himself.IraHayes wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 7:59 pm So just to recap...
The OP invites all and sundry to view his house, posts details of the construction and photos at various stages.... in Cambodia.
Then is a little miffed when someone copies it.
I’m shocked..... shocked at how some one can have the skill and ability to amass the money for this project yet fail to understand that in Asia it is not a case of “if” but “when” will someone copy it.

Can't compare a 2 million$ villa in Sandbanks to a 100.000 something house in Kep Sir. I drive a Hyundai, I'm not bragging at all. Just posting for people that are interested, if you are not, just skip.Hotdigr wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 9:59 pm Seriously? Is that the best whinge you could come up with? I'd be flattered, and I'd hope this design is practical and works well for everyone. It's not as if anyone has sneaked in and copied your blueprints and is now making millions out of it. They have just observed your widely-shared process and emulated it. Honestly, I'd be proud to have had so much influence. Well done.

I sure hope my neighbours will not copy my new balcony and another balcony under construction.

Too late. I already passed the photos to your neighbours wives.yong wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 11:00 pm I sure hope my neighbours will not copy my new balcony and another balcony under construction.
