Content, or lack thereof

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Get Real!

Here we go again, a nice period of polite chat, de-railed again by some who should know better.

Scoobs is doing well over there, to pull K440 up by its boot straps, not an easy task. However he is no favours for the 'New' K440 image or himself by constantly popping up on here and constantly seeking to goad and provoke the weak of mind.

Some here should clearly know better, he will fade away, IF you stop taking his silly little masquerades on.

Moving on is long, long overdue. It has been said by many people on many posts. Those of you who try to counter his arguments are as much part of the problem as the mischievous sockateer, himself.

Now, about this new content?

:please:

It must be nice feeling so smugly superior to those who chose to live anywhere in Thailand except fucking Phuket, where the bastion of farang knowledge and pro-junta enthusiasm is apparently located. Your opinions are no more valid than anyones. Don't confuse your insular opinions with facts.

soi, not saying my opinions are more worthy BUT i

1. dont comment on things i dont know ( well most of the time)
2. was not conned to build a home for my wife's /gf family in Essan and allowed to live there.
3, i built a home here in phuket for myself an daughter and not on my ex's family land ( if i had it would no longer be mine for sure as as happened to so many)
4. dont spend all day an night commenting on the thai visa forum nor have thousands of posts

PS its not just Phuket , its Bangkok an everywhere south of there that is pro Junta ( for now, as things could change) Even most of thai visa posters are pro junta wherever they live

and
Yes it is nice :-)

On another note, it is good to have more than one forum in Cambodia as a monopoly is not healthy.
In fairness, the new owner is a prick too.
You mean Sco beans ? Yes he is certainly a prick.

But KIR was effortless at being a prick. Almost an accidental prick.

Sco beans works very hard to live up to his prick image. Almost too much
effort at being a prick. Maybe he is covering for some personal lacking.
All this nonsense, and the off-topic Thailand stuff, should be moved to the appropriate other threads. THIS thread is about how to make CEO more inclusive and interesting.

Well if we'd all (including me) learn to stop feeding the troll, no matter how much of a nice guy he might be OFF forum...

Fuck, it's "Isaan" and not "Essan" - give me a break ! It took me 30 minutes to understand what you are talking about. Anyway - so far so good: please continue ;)

Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

:whip:

:thumb: Or even better, send it over to the other forum.

To have an interesting forum, people have to want to share. I thought the whole point of CEO was to allow posters to express themselves without all the crap that goes on elsewhere ? Otherwise, why bother?
Zap the trolls.

I made an effort to support it and recommend it to people, but bizarrely, an admin guy took a huff when I argued with him, and gave me bad karma for going slightly off topic, as a lame excuse lol. If he doesn't want me posting, that's fine. Job done. And I was real pissed when he inferred it was ok for trolls to call me racist as I quote the BBC ! No wonder people lurk. There were a few topics I'd liked to have discussed, to get Aussie and American views on them, and a female perspective, but why bother? It isn't worth the hassle.

I read a Cambo 11 post on 440 , where he said the most successful Thai forum was heavily moderated. There's two forums like that actually, and they are way ahead of the others. I think people want friendly forums, free from keyboard warriors.

Agreed.

No issue with people who disagree, but I do with those who disagree without respect for others, and those who screech to be heard/respected without listening or respecting. I give up at that point and go and do something meaningful. As much as posters have suggested I'm 'protected' as the 'Evangelical Megaposter' or somesuch (man, you should witness some of the disagreements I have with management), I feel that there certainly are those that are protected by admin as they overtly troll to bring CEO down to the level of their own forum, or just derail (especially religious) threads by attacking the poster without genuinely engaging with what is being said.

I hold special contempt for keyboard warriors, one of the lowest forms of filth online, IMO. Just my 100r worth - no, I don't want the change.

(Getting in ahead of those who have nothing else to offer: Yes, I'm aware that's not very Christ-like, and no, I have not asked WWJD.)
