Confused Frenchman in Sihanoukville Hospital has Bad Amnesia

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Sihanoukville, Cambodia: This man, presumably from France, has been hospitalized in Chak Angre Polyclinic and has a really bad case of amnesia. Thinks he's in another country and can't remember his name or anything.

Do you recognize him? If so, maybe you can help the hospital contact his family. (Although the embassy is probably the best place to start.)

It seems it is a sudden case of Alzheimer's or similar.
The french warden and Maurice friends/neighbors took him home yesterday. However it might happen again as he is still oblivious about his identity and surroundings.

Although Alzheimer's can progress rapidly, it doesn't happen over night, ever. If he was fine one day, and then suffering confusion and major memory loss the next day, it's more likely a stroke or mini-stroke (TIA) or something similar. He needs to get to a real hospital ASAP to make sure sure he isn't bleeding into his brain or suffering a clot, and if it was a stroke or TIA, to get him on the appropriate medication.
