Countrywide BLACKOUT in Cambodia right now? (26/11/15)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

ThIs not going to play well on Facebook, energy security (cue Russia), military security (evil yuon!), dependence on VN (Cambodia the puppet)...I predict much opposition talk, especially as they are feeling on the ropes right now due to Rainsy's failures. This is something to talk about.

Still no electricity. Cities are worse than countryside when no electricity and water. Shame!!! We buy everything from our neighbor.

It's the first time in all the time I have been here that the PM has apologised for a power outage.

Times they are a-changin'.

Don't worry! It will all be ok in a few years thanks to Russia! What could go wrong ?

Russia/PHNOM PENH - Russia will help Cambodia work towards building a nuclear power plant under an agreement the two countries signed this week, said Sergei Kirienko, the head of state nuclear firm Rosatom.

Here in Snookyville we have a 500 megawatt Chinese power plant just outside of town and we have been having power outages just about every other day. What's with that? Can't the Cambodians distribute the power?

I hope if the build the nuke plant they do it way over by the Vietnamese border.
