Chroy Changvar

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Sounds great. It is so nice on that side of the river at night.........makes you think they built Phnom Penh on the wrong side.

Nope, It makes me think people are on the wrong side.,,,,,,,,,,,,,

People are always on the wrong side, the argument, the border, the country, the war.

It's the bridge that has always put me off. The traffic can be at a standstill, so not good for work. Not sure how it is with the new bridge in place? If Frank reports that the bridge doesn't clog I would consider it myself again. Seen anything else good and cheap over there Frank? Rooms or small flat.

Many years ago there was a small boat passenger service crossing from one side to the other. I ,,,[ kingdom of ],,, wonder, why this service is no longer operating .

The first Koh Dach ferry dock is about 8k north of the bridge on highway 6a and about half a k before the Prek Leap high school. The second is another 6k further north. The first ferry seems to work into the evening as I can often see the ferry lights from my balcony.

I'm talking about the one that left r/side at the end of st 144 ? and landed the other side, probably in line with the night market.

I lived on the "other" side in 2008
there was the daily ferry ( went from in front of the wat) to the riverside near street 136
5am-8pm 500 riel,

Loved it,
when they redid the bank on the the CC side, that ferry stopped running
also they moved all the boats PP side up north.

Snowy's was my bar of choice for a drink and smoke

Lived right on the river front

Lived over on Chroy Changvar for the last three years, with the two bridges there is rarely any congestion. Takes me about ten minutes to get to the river side. The only problems occurred when Sam Rainsy was holding political rallies around the bridge. The monivong roundabout can get fairly busy at rush hour but this is only really a problem if your driving a car.
