Christmas sermon. Trigger-warning - suck it up, snowflake

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I don't know about God or souls, but tell me this, do microwaves or radio waves exist? How does your phone connect to the network? Is it some kind of invisible magic?

They tell us we breath oxygen but do we really. I can’t see it. What does it look like?
But then I don’t really understand Brexit so there you are.

If people believe in a god then that’s fine by me. At least we’ve got some people looking out for the rest of us.

Demonstratable science.
Show me where the resistance if a soul can be demonstrated.

What is really amazing is the number of people who will deny the existence of any god, and argue about it till they are out of breath. Personally I am happy there are people who find a reason to leave a legacy they can be proud of. Yes, a lot of bad things have been done in the name of different religions but a lot of bad things have also been done trying to obliterate religion. The Soviet Union but one example. Why can't people just let others believe what they will, live and let live, as long as it causes no harm? And personally, I can't believe when my spark dies it is gone forever. But that is only my hope.

The climate has been changing since the existence of earth. Maybe he is just tired of America funding the fight when our #'s are going down and the emerging giant's are going up. Kind of like paying more than or share of NATO's costs, or other international orgs. such as the UN. But what does that have to do with religion?

Religion is a belief system which determines particular behaviour or actions, similarly belief shapes our actions with respect to climate change, or more specifically global warming.

Challenges to belief systems in the context of climate change adaptation Jamba. 2018; 10(1): 508.

This article focuses on the social aspects of climate change and explores the interrelationship between belief systems and adaptation. The links and interaction between external and internal realities are examined from the perspective of contextual vulnerability, with a focus on the multifaceted structure of belief systems. The aim was to determine those challenges regarding climate change adaptation that are caused by a community’s belief system and to make recommendations to overcome them.
