Has anyone had any experience with Child Safe Siem Reap? My son is in crisis. His mother has turned junkie, prostitute and is violent threatening his life. I have been asking them for help over the past several days but they have not responded. This situation has gotten bad. Real bad. Please keep the assholish sarcastic remarks to yourself. This is my son.

I thought Child Safe focuses on protecting children from sex trafficking. I did not know they are in the business of getting involved in custody disputes and taking children from bad mothers generally.

Yes I am in Cambodia. Yes, I am listed as the father on the birth certificate. My son is days away from being prostituted out himself. As for their scope, I wish they at least had the decency to respond to me and tell me that this is not in their scope....

I have emailed them, and they do not list a physical address in Siem Reap, although rumor has it that they have an office here. As for my phone, she smashed it several times and I finally had to finish it off due to it not working. Money is tight. I just started a new job. Now have to pay back hundreds in work permit back payments and a new one year visa.

I saw other Child Safe posts that said Cambodian Law states that the man will have custody of his first born son regardless of his nationality. Don't know if this is true or not. Baby has no passport at all and I have not registered him with my embassy yet. I have been focused on finding work, and had to return to the U.S. myself for 4 months due to a major injury I sustained here. This came at me relatively suddenly. She has gone insane. She is a wild animal now and that is not an exaggeration.

You would have seen that on one of my comments. Let me emphasise this strongly - do your own research on this. I posted on my friend's experience, but this is the land of wildly differing experiences.

While I still believe it to be true, others have commented that it's not.

In relation to your problem (and this isn't something I'd advise lightly) if you honestly suspect your child might be trafficked, I'd suggest contacting APLE for guidance.
