I agree that he's been given too much leeway (our bad), and we have already been discussing tightening the leash a bit.

As mentioned above, we do take reports seriously, so you are doing EVERYONE a service when you use the report function, as it let's us know we should take a second look at something.

Even that 'black teachers in Cambodia' topic was a topic I think is perfectly fine to have on CEO, but we definitely let some posts slip through that we would probably have been better off not letting through.

I will say, Borum's reaction to having one post deleted should show everyone just how difficult it is to get modding decisions right every time, lol.

We are humans making dozens of modding decisions every day, and we do spend a lot of our time behind the scenes discussing them, as we have a desire to get it right EVERY TIME, but we do fuck up from time to time, and let something stay that would have probably been better to delete, or delete something that others might think was fine.

So it's a fine line, and we are always working to give everyone the freedom to express anything they want, while also doing what we can to make sure people don't cross the line.

It's tough. As far as I know, none of us on the Mod Team have anyone on 'ignore,' and I as admin have an open door policy where ANYONE (member or just reader) can contact me directly to give any ideas/feedback, or to simply discuss anything related to everything.

I think the people who have reported posts and have engaged with us privately have no idea just how helpful they have been, as it's always taken into consideration, and often acted on.

There are a few CEO members who are on Mod Preview, but the vast majority of us have no restrictions on our accounts, and can post anything they want at any time, which can be read by anyone on the planet with internet access. So of course you will read things from time to time that you don't think should be allowed, and when that happens, send us a message or report it.
