Is CEO backdating threads to boost search engine ranking?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. All the talk about post date vs prominent date doesn't really address why Google thinks some threads are posted on dates before the demise of the person that died. Since the prominent date would most likely be the time of death if mentioned enough times in the thread. Where did Google find a date pre-dating this event, and assume this was the relevant time for that thread?

Not trying to state anything about the claim of "false" dates, just being curious as to why dates predating the event would be picked up.

Could be getting it from the “related posts” section at the bottom. Or if it’s just a day difference the google bot could be identifying itself as being in a western time zone and being served a time stamp that’s adjusted for its local time.

In summation:
1) GM says Alexandra/440 is messing with dates to benefit on Google search results
2) Alexandra shows 440 is not messing with dates, it is the difference between guest reply post time vs when it is approved by a moderator
3) CEO has add-in installed that has a specific purpose to mess with the date stamp, doing the thing CEO claims 440 was doing
4) GM makes long video and Alexandra makes lengthy posts that most people are not going to read/watch

I do some FB ad campaigns and have done google as well, I need to look at this add-in although I think it serves little benefit to our type of site (i.e. not posting news but rather selling services). My guess is these things will be combated/corrected by google at some point but in the interim seems like a good move to take advantage of it.
