CEO and Khmer440 BLACKOUT!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

When I read words that I don't understand yet am interested in I look them up in dictionaries.

If you have any actual questions then asking them makes it easier. You can't possibly expect people to re-write entire posts so that you can understand them. Had you had a genuine interest in the topic then you would probably understand the terminology.

Not trying to come off as a smartass or anything. I find it quite rude when people ask for entire posts to be re-written instead of clarifying specifics.

And, in all fairness, what's with the "I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS" posts? Everytime people talk about computers, specifically, hordes come out of their shadows to remind us all what you don't know anything about. It's not really important if you understand it or not, is it?
I look up interesting words on perhaps a daily basis. My original post was a lame attempt at tongue-in-cheek - perhaps I should stick to tongue-in-vag? I'm good at that but I've got a coldsore at the moment.

FLB managed to answer a simple question with a simple answer - no need to overcomplicate things or be a complete cock.

You call us abnormal boffins and for being told how rude you come off, I'm being a complete cock?

We know that you don't understand, we can tell by your silence. Please use it more.

In that case Mr Bendix- why are you and your little coterie calling us names such as those proposed by Koastal.
I notice you personally gave the name to us here.
perhaps you should take your own advice.

seems like old times on kkk.
i guess you all ran out of whipping boys for the moment.
got to vent that spleen on "outsiders"

I think you will find that ricecakes' thread and the subsequent comments on it are directed at one CEO poster only, and not the entire CEO community.

cisco and microsoft certified here daddy-o for many years......................

i had a boss in the mid 1990's that required us all to use computers.

you could just copy C: windows for work groups on 3 floppies, and copy them to the hdd of another box and away you went at that time.

1998 i started selling online and got sucked further into the hardware/networkvortex.
it was all downhill from there with scada and plc exposure, wireless, 2 wire polling networks......
big money contracts..................
now i am in a dying industry- print- and i was head hunted specifically for IT experience.
Ironic no?

bores the living shit out of me now. but i still sell a bit online via unique html pages.

hope to escape it all soon and spend some time in the garden and fishing.
hope soon i can hire some minions to do the hackwork for me.

Above is the original. "Abnormal" is a condition that you've imposed...

Yes, you are being a cock.

EDIT:

Just for your reference from Wikipedia:

A boffin is British slang for a scientist, engineer, or other person engaged in technical or scientific work. The original World War II conception of war-winning researchers means that the term tends to have more positive connotations than related terms like egghead, nerd, or geek.

"for us dopey (normal)"

You except yourself from the crowd you are addressing just to make it clear that you are the normal one and the people you are addressing is not. This is, frankly, not a very nice way to ask for clarifications.

Imagine if I showed up in a bar where you were discussing motorcycles, or something else "normal". I interrupt the discussion and demand all attention. Once I have it I open my mouth and the only thing that spills out is that "I don't understand anything" and "can you please re-do the discussion specifically for us normal ones".

You could've asked something along the lines of "why is DDoS effective", or "how does it work" or put it any other polite way. But no, you chose to call us boffins and place yourself in the "normal" category, which apparently is an exception when talking to us boffins. Or, as you called it, you were being "tongue in cheek".

Next time that you feel like writing anything with your tongue in either your cheek or arse or whatever floats your boat, remember that it doesn't work very well via text based mediums and you may end up sounding incredibly rude instead.

You have no idea do you. Boffin is a term of endearment you clown.

Don't make the mistake of taking yourself too seriously.

As FLB demonstrated, a simple question only needs a simple answer not a fucking thesis.

I know what boffin means. Perhaps I was being unclear. Let me write you a very simple flow to follow:

1. You exclude yourself from the crowd you address
2. You call yourself normal -> The crowd you exclude yourself from is, thus, the opposite of normal

Did you catch it or shall I run it by you again?

I like how you say questions need answers and not "fucking thesises". You just quoted Wikipedia. Interestingly, Wikipedia was nowhere for you to be found when you were splitting your head over how to possibly find out what a denial of service is.

thanks for clearing up the semantics Mr Bendix. It must have been the plural in the subject thread that skewed my misunderestimation of your intent.

Stop being selective in what you quote to fit your misguided responses. I clearly said 'dopey (normal)' yet you only choose to run with normal, just as you added 'abnormal' before.

Let's keep it simple so you get it, FUCK YOU!
