Some pictures I took at the south gate of Angkor Wat recently. It's the one that you can spot on the approach road from Siem Reap in the forest across the moat. Nearly all of the windows were blocked up with stones scavenged from elsewhere with just a slot for a gun. That inside platform of stones has "I love you- kikilu" on it but that's probably recent. The Buddha inside is in a poor state and looks like it was vandalized long ago.

I took a solo trip out to Kratie years ago.

I was exploring around a Wat when I saw the 'bell' they used to call the monks.

To my eye it looked like the forward part of a Mk. 81 250lb'er or some kind of howitzer artillery round.

You could see the threads where the fuse would be screwed in.

For 8 centuries in the upper temple in Sihanoukville, they use the hub from the wheel of a truck as a bell.

Some great pics there, I liked Lambo's elephant in Snookyville. I have a similar photo. How does one post photos nowadays, I always thought it was too difficult. I liked the temple windows with the gun slits as well, I never saw that.
I must go through the vintage ipad and see what i have...

It's dead easy to post photos if you click on the thing with the green head on the bar above. There's also a post with instructions by UT to walk you through it somewhere. Mods ?
