US-Cambodia SCAM with Fake Accident

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Hard to say where that first photo got taken, except to say it had a timber floor whereas tiled floors are the norm here.

I hope you reported the scam to your online match making service, Lea. He could be trying that on dozens of women.

Agree. (Report the scam.) The guy could be sending out help messages to women all over the US right now.
Thanks for getting back to us Lea. That's quite a story.

This is one of the many reasons why you shouldn't get engaged to someone you've never met.

Great attempted scam. Probably some fat, sweaty Nigerian sitting in an internet cafe in Phnom Penh responsible.

Haha, they Photoshopped "road rash" on the dude? That's pretty insane.

Sounds like you received emails from him and maybe from the "translator."

What IP Address(es) did the emails come from? If they were sloppy, they might not have taken the time to hide their real IP Addresses.

That would at least tell you what country they're in.

My bet is also Nigeria. Call it a hunch.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Even the neck brace copped a bit of rash.
