This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Family Looking for Canadian Expat FRANÇOIS CLOUTIER Who has been "Missing" in Sihanoukville for 2 Months

Post by General Mackevili »

The family of a Canadian expat living in Sihanoukville have reached out to CEO to help locate their missing relative. His name is François (Frank) Cloutier, who she says they haven't heard from in over a month, and they want to reach him and make sure he's OK.

I know going off the grid for a mere 30 days in Sihanoukville/Cambodia is often nothing to worry about, but she seems concerned, so I thought I'd post this. I'll send this link to the lady and I guess she can sign up if anyone has any leads to give her, or we can just forward them to her.

I'll forward her messsges:

"We are looking for François Cloutier, probably known as Frank. He is Canadian, 5'10.''

Very thin, no upper teeth. He has last been seen in Sihanoukville.

He has been missing for over 1 month.

He has not taken any money from his checking account in 2 months.

He has nobody. Just my sister and I.

All I know is he was staying at a hotel in Sihanoukville in a hotel on the beach at $8.00 to $10.00 a night.

He had a visa for Cambodia since June 2017.

I can't think of anything. With everyday passing by we are not sure if he is still alive.."

And this is where the much insulted tuk tuks provide a useful service . I am sure they could find him real quick if his sister wants to offer a small reward

Update from her on this missing person in Sihanoukville, Cambodia:

"I see it now. Thank you so much. When I mentioned over a month, I should of been more accurate. Many sleepless night for my sister and myself. We actually have no news from him for 4 months now.

And as I mentioned he has not taken money from his bank since November 24!"

"very thin, no upper teeth" describes a third of the expats in Sihanoukville.

Not taking his money out is not a great sign, although not seen any unclaimed barang bodies in Shv. Huy Bunleng would have that on his fb. He could be working in a bar on Koh Rong but he doesn't look the type. Is there a history of drug use or depression?
