Can you identify this crop?

Post by bitcambodia » Mon Jul 14, 2014 4:38 pm

The lady has loads of it on the farm in Takeo. I'm told it is used as an ingredient for some kind of Chinese medicine. The Khmer word for it is "desplei" or "day-ply," which translates to land fruit. Anyone have any experience with this? What is the English word for it?

I figured it out. Basically it is a kind of pepper. Here it is if anyone is interested, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piper_retrofractum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks!
