"Right, I'm now here, but I don't have (enough) money to travel to the next country, so you know what? I'll ask a local to write in the local language that I want to move on and need money for that to happen. Hey, I've been so extremely brave to come this far, I'm entitled to get money to travel on! It's a universal right, right?"

Is it thinking like that? I really cannot comprehend.
And ... at what point did it go wrong?
Assuming the premise: 'need money to fund my travels' is not total bs

Maybe he went for a 10,000 riel massage and....

Well, that was fun!

Given that Terry Fishsauce is going to take "a run up slap to the head, full force" and BR549 is "going to attack him", I would suggest the young chap take some of his begging income and avail himself of some medical insurance, and rapidly.

If either one of our members does a proper job on him, he might even get med-evac'd to somewhere civilised, so that would fix his travel money needs too.

Hs he been named yet? If so, his online reputation is going to be trashed. Good luck getting a job anywhere good with this on your 'record'.

And for my money, JB summed it up perfectly; the kid got to be famous for $1.25.

Juggling babies are a bit out of fashion now, you can only get a decent crowd by setting them on fire and playing bongos at the same time now.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

And they say they "pity" him! This is disgusting! How can a man from a rich country go to a poor country and take money from schoolchildren!
there is no such thing as a rich country

there are homeless people in america, the uk and europe

i would help one of them in my country if i thought they needed it

there are incredibly rich people in cambodia and horribly poor people too

suggest you find out more about his circumstances before condemning him

charity makes the donor feel good, both benefit

what country are you from, btw?

The right thing to do is talk to them, and find out about their situation. All guesses about them may be wrong.

There are people in Cambodia who had a return flight booked to their home country for a date after the airlines stopped flying, and these people are stuck in Cambodia.

There are people who were working for Cambodian NGOs, who thought they may only close for a fairly short time, who decided to stay, so they can continue helping when after they reopen.

There are people who were travelling, and did not hear about the airlines shutting down.

There are people who were teaching English, and now they have no income.

Some of these people have money in savings. Others have little money.
