Cambodian Police Brutality VIDEO (Dragged by Hair and Beat)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Cambodian Police Brutality VIDEO (Dragged by Hair and Beat)

Post by General Mackevili »

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: This video came out, showing a bag snatcher getting his ass handed to him by everyone and their grandmother, and the police, who end up dragging him while handcuffed by his hair. Ouch!

I assume he's guilty, as you can see what appears to be one of the police officers throwing a purse across his shoulders.

Actually, after the video last month of the Cambodian guy getting a cement brick thrown on his head, this video doesn't seem half bad.

While, it's nice to see people taking matters into their own hands there is a justice system that needs to be followed violence only condones more violence.

I love it. That purse = a women pulled off her motobike. Kill all thieves on the spot. Seriously. No room for it. Kill the next 25 bag snatchers. See if this problem. Persist.

I want to point out that this is not brutality in the grand scheme of Cambodian justice. The police saved his life. Yes, they helped BEAT him but ultimately, they dragged him away from the civilian mob who surely would have not stopped until he was dead. So really, they did some good. They let everyone get some stomps in and then got him out of there.

Simple, make a fair trail and lock him up no need to beat him to a pulp. How about all the people that steal money from the poor? why aren't they beaten up like this? just saying......

He's fortunate not to be in Clevland, where the forces of law and order tend to shoot first, and ask questions after they've got of 100+ rounds. :hattip:
