How hard is it to get tourist visa for Cambodia girlfriend and visit Thailand? I understand no paperwork ect and she can get 14 days. But we would like to spend 30 - 90days if possible. I have a USA passport.... She has no job, I've supported her for years, she owns a house (documents), and she's older 40+....also, if anyone has recommendations for low hassle countries/easy stay for a few months we are all ears

2 weeks, no visa.
2 months non extendable( yes Cambodians can’t extend like some other Nationalities) just fill the application form, bank statement, fee, etc, head along to Thai embassy on Norodom AM time. Collect per receipt PM a day or too later. Unless you’re busy or otherwise there’s no need for an agent.

Fine if u prefer to pay but it's clearly only to have someone courrier the application. In no way do they facilitate the application process. As for no extension, I'd previously read it wasn't possible and frankly over the last four years operated on that assumption. I just tried to find the info but was unable. Anway it's clearly possible as your gf has done.

I've also read Cambodians can't extend. Good to hear richardphukett say they can. We had considered visiting Japan also but heard lots documents and not easy... But...looks like visit Thailand a few months for her is not a problem... The 14 day thing just not enough time

I lived in Thailand prior to 2004.My Cambodian wife used to get a 60 day tourist visa.Police sometimes came to our house checking visas.I would advise your wife to get a visa.Thai police sometimes tried to intimidate my wife and on one occasion I had to call and get Thai friends to come to help me get her away from a Thai cop who snatched my wife's passport and tried to make me leave her with him near the Thai border town of Ban Hat Lek in Trat Province.The Thai police in border areas sometimes become so accustomed to bullying Cambodians that they get a bit power crazed.If you have an attractive Cambodian wife and you travel overland between Thailand and Cambodian often, you will likely encounter at least one Thai cop who will act that way.If you have any Thai friends it would be a good idea to have a discussion with them about what to do if you encounter that sort of problem.The immigration police at airports have always been professional when we enter Thailand by air.But if you transit overland often you might run into a jerk.
