Cambodia Vlogs

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Cambodia Vlogs

Post by hburns »

Just being a nosey bugger really.

Came across this guy on YouTube. He looks like he's in his early 20's, American and fluent in Khmer. Says he's lived in Cambodia nearly his whole life.

Just wondering if any of you know his story, what brought him to KOW so young and how does he sustain what looks like a very comfortable life. At a guess I'd say one or both his parents work in good jobs at the embassy and he still lives off the bank of mum and dad. I hope that's not the case as I'm sure he must have quite an interesting story if there is another reason.

'I've lived here longer than any other expat.'

Fucking wanker mentality.

The lazy eye and arrogant attitude don't help, either

His Khmer is simple — but definitely fluent. Would be curious to hear more of his story. I just heard that he grew up in Cambodia. So what did his parents do?

He just uploaded another video. His parents were missionaries and lived in Kompot. He grew up with Khmer friends so he learned the language the best way.

I found the DJ style Cambodian more shocking. He looked and acted like he came from a ghetto somewhere in Long Beach. Saw one on TV and thought he was a returned Khmer. He was pitching some resort in Kampot.
