They sell them in many places in Siem Reap ask.your GF to have a look around as its clear by your mistakes this far you'd end up paying twice what you should do
Buying a tuk-tuk and handing over the cash is the easy part.. The hardest part is paying for the repairs , filling up with gas and paying the family driver every time you want to go somewhere.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I worked for an NGO and the Japanese Govt donated a ton of brown rice.
Beautiful, white rice stinks after Japanese brown rice.

Re: Buy tuk tuk for my family
Puppy happened, not embellished. Came home to g/f giving me the bad news. Relayed to me that man said I could have some if I like. I assume because I have been feeding his 3 starving dogs since the day I moved into the village. Taught the remaining 2 to sit, shake (both paws), lie down and take food nicely. I am a dog person and have been quite the curiosity to the locals. When I arrive home, I am met with a herd of happy children and dogs to greet me. I do realize that this is most likely due to the fact that I feed them all but it's still nice. The Khmer adults just grin and shake their heads. I am the only white guy in my village. Taught the kids to be nice to dogs. Still working on the littering thing. Making progress on the trash burning thing. Nothing like coming home to your house filled with styrofoam and plastic smoke. I am apparently fitting in at least somewhat. Have to duck the Chinese tour buses that come through for "poor people tourism" - don't want to screw up their economy. Once a religious group came through to "save the children" from squalor or whatever. Some tall blonde woman had tears streaking down her face as she moved from hut to hut with words of hope. Then she came to my house. I was half naked with a beer in my hand and was sharpening my machete. By the look on her face, I felt I had ruined her long planned out trip to Asia to explore the dark realms and save some hopeless child through whatever means. How ya doin? I asked. I think she was dissapointed. After that I started ducking the buses.
