Burma

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Wow, it's pretty rare when I find images I can't download. This is one of those rare times.

Damn you, Richard. Image

And great pics!

Great stuff Richard. I haven't been back in 10 years. I investigate it from time to time. Looking at the prices, I think I'll wait until they build some more hotels.

33 hotels under $30 a night in Yangon on Agoda, so it doesnt seem crazy expensive, but it is a bit higher priced than cambodia or thailand

i'm surprised to see dorm beds as high as 17 bucks though, they couldnt charge more than $7 in phnom penh

myanmar is going to be my next trip

if u care to forgo air con u can get rooms for under $20
juts about anywhere,

what seems to surprises me ( an i spoke with my friend whom manages a hotel in Mandalay) is they seem that for a room wit air con, 2 beds( or 1) cable, hot water an breakfast they charge $30
and thats from hotels way up north to way down south. city or village

I had a real nice bungalow in Bagan for only $22/night!! it was a steal!

I'd say room averages about 25% higher than PP and SR
NOT talking dec-mid march thou when demand almost outstrips supply
