BugZone: Nothing's perfect...

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Were you planning on dishing out some neg karma?

It has been removed as some people like to give other members dozens of neg karma in a row. Childish innit?

No I was confused when I read a post by one of my hundreds of socks and the number of icons was wrong.

You should just put a limit on those buttons. How about 50? Then install mods who pull the trigger based on who pushes the button how. Easy fix. We could get rid of posters like Can Nivag who don't really break the rules they just push too many buttons.

Let's be fair about this. I downvoted like 4 posts that a certain moderator posted over the last two weeks. Although I have multiple accounts, I never downvoted a post from more than one account, as that would not be sporting. Nor did I "mass downvote" dozens of his posts willy nilly just to stir shit. If you're accusing me of that, provide evidence.

The thing that got fluky was that I would downvote this moderator's post, and then a few minutes later the downvote would disappear. I didn't even know that the moderators could tinker with the vote scoring like that, but apparently they can secretly remove downvotes on their own posts if they think the downvotes are "unjustified." Then I would re-downvote the same post, and a few minutes later, the downvote disappears again. Downvote it again, it disappears again. That probably did happen about a dozen times.

This particular moderator has, over the past few months, downvoted a number of my posts. I didn't think were particularly "justified," but also didn't really care about it, of course I didn't have the power to improve my posts' scoring by removing the downvotes.

I don't think your upvote/downvote system was broken but I accept your decision to remove the downvoting, it's probably for the best. There were also threads derailed by posters demanding to know why they were downvoted, and in the interest of making things friendlier it's probably not a bad idea to get rid of downvoting.

Fuck me Gavin, why do you keep outing your socks like this? I had no idea that this was your sock. In fact, I just posted in the mod section that wanker wat is not cam nivag (because he's in Myanmar).

My comment about "mass downvoting" was NOT directed at you. The poster who it was directed to has already responded.

I expect this account of yours will be banned before to long. Adios.

I'm absolutely certain that there would be many more who would too. You could always 'report' the trolls post.

I apologize for jumping to the conclusion the downvote button removal was about me. That was an honest mistake on my part, due to the unfortunate involvement of repeated mod downvoting in my recent banning for 'trolling.' I was not aware of any other downvoting going on, but I don't read a lot of threads, unless they are about dead or arrested white dudes or NKOTB's compelling accounts of his bold excursions outside his house.

GONK knows I'm in Myanmar, it's no secret. Though it seems like the mods are always the last to know about the socks, which is strange. Brody and Fax have them figured out within about two posts. I don't mind when they are banned, but I really like the name "Wanker Wat" so it would make me sad to see that name killed off forever. I would propose that you permaban the Cam Nivag name instead, as it triggers people, and give Wanker Wat a few days off and then we start fresh from there.
