BugZone: Nothing's perfect...

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Is 20 posts the cut-off? If so the same applies to me. :)

Cutoff is 30, not 20.

Don't know whether this is by design or a bug.
Inconsistent advertising banners.

Start here at my default start page https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/search. ... ive_topics.
Sometimes there's an ad across the top like 'Loco' or 'Lone Star', and sometimes not. If there is an ad, hit refresh and it's a bit of a lottery whether you get an ad after the page reloads or not.
At the top right where it says 'Page 1 of 6', open pages 2 through 6 in new tabs. Only one or two of those pages will have an ad, the others won't.
Here's the result of 3 tests just now:
Page 1 - Ad
2 - none
3 - none
4 - Ad
5 - none
6 -none

TEST 2
1 - none
2 -none
3 - none
4 - none
5 - Ad
6 - none

TEST 3
1 - Ad
2 - Ad
3 - none
4 - none
5 - none
6 - none

Your welcome,
don't forget to send some Karma my way

to me it seems better to offer rotating banner ads , Most of the merchants i deal with offer this on their site

thats what google ad words does
you plug in the code and google places the ad
.

you mean several rotating without a page refresh? pretty much not done at all anymore in the advertising industry. it doesn't know well if you even have the ad in the visible scope as the rotation moves, meaning it may show ads that are off page but costing a CPM impression. bad form.

these rotate per page hit, with some "weight" options available. and all advertisers who have CEO accounts get a nice link to view their ad performance in both views and clicks.

(i'm also working on a way to make this "self service" for placing one... but the commerce bit of it will take a while.)

i have confirmed that if you have adblock it does actually block any ads where the file isn't hosted on our server. some are, some aren't... but it looks like i'll have to move the ones that aren't.

Man, you're good!

Actually it was your suggestion on that other forum that I installed adblocker (Firefox). :beer3:

Just disabled adblocker for this site and all is fine again.

Sorry, :dragonchase: help, there's a dragon chasing me . . . .
