After reading the above, I looked for Mike Hyslop on facebook.

Says he lives in Siem Reap, so that must be him. There are no friends listed publicly, but he went to Plymstock High School, so if the Plymouth Herald journalists checked out his school year book there, maybe they will come up with people who knew him at school and know who his family is ? Just a thought.

^That's definitely him. Wearing almost the exact outfit as a picture of him from Facebook, MINUS his expensive watch.
Hmmmm, it does kinda look like he was dropped off by his Cambodian lover and left on the side of the road to die without his fancy Seiko/TAG Heuer watch.
He posted this on Facebook September 29 with the caption 'Good days !!!'
And the other post talking about his fancy watches was from June:

They should find the relatives pretty quick after the Herald posted the story.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 8:48 pm After reading the above, I looked for Mike Hyslop on facebook.

He is from the same town as me and even went to the same secondary school (Plymstock Comprehensive). Though 7 years older than me. I've sent a few messages to see if any of my family know him...

His FB also says "Studied Addiction Therapy at University of Leeds"

I’ve owned real Tag watches and they are not that expensive. If you took it into a watch repairer in Switzerland they’d still say “leave it with us”!
So anyway. That’s all immaterial now eh.

A watch repairer in Switzerland doesn't make money swapping real parts with Chinese counterfeits.

Just because it says “Swiss made” doesn’t mean it hasn’t got chinese parts in it already.
Most high end watches are only around 50% made in house, Rolex being one that isn’t because they own the Chinese factories.

A Tag watch will start at 2500USD, the average income per household in Cambodia was 1,228.50 USD in Dec 2016. I would suggest that a "real" tag watch is expensive for average Cambodians. I would further suggest that any "real " watch that costs a "real" frenchman two years of his household income would be considered an expensive watch in france. That said, I can 't begin to tell you how in awe I am that you owned a "real" tag watch and thought it wasn t expensive. Do you own a "real" Hermes belt as well and only wear it when you are slumming?

I said counterfeit. There's a decrease in quality when parts are swapped to cheaper ones. That difference in cost is the profit for a thief.davegorman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 11:26 am Just because it says “Swiss made” doesn’t mean it hasn’t got chinese parts in it already.

Just because there's a Chinese part in your computer doesn't mean it's worth the same as another Chinese part they'll swap it for money when you get your computer "fixed".

I always thought the whole swapping out parts thing was a myth.
