bokor mountain closed for foreignors

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Yes, I think the road to Bokor has been closed to foreigners (westerners ?) since around Khmer New Year. ( Almost one month now.) It's probably open for Chinese tour groups who are going to the casino or hotels. (My guess only.) No news of the road opening to other foreigners soon.
Maybe cycle to Kep instead ? Good luck.

I've been up there three times in past 4 weeks.

They are arbitrarily stopping some foreign folk, depending on whether they are masked up or not.

I've not been bothered, neither have anybody I know.

But definitely stopping some forigeners.

If they let foreigners climb the mountain they would look down on Cambodia.

If you have time, you can head along the coast in the other direction and you'll get to the Cardamoms - lots of vertical there.
Btw. There is a cycling thread here where you could discuss with fellow cyclists about alternative ideas for a road trip.

Sorry you didn't get to ride up there maybe later you'll get the opportunity,it's a great ride specially when you have a nice warm girl hugging you as your making the turns.
