BKKTRAPPER goes to Osaka

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Oden is cheap too, anything from any Lawson, Family Mart, etc. There sandwich is good, fry chicken, nigiri, meat dumpling, etc only for 100-150 yen, then if there is street food, have okonomiyaki, takoyaki, grill chicken...really anything on street is cheap but very tasty and "heavy". God, you make me miss home now.
And this from one of the world's most developed economies. I wish some of the expats who frequent these boards would take the opportunity to rub the last remaining brain cells together and realize Cambodia is one of the most expensive places in the world to buy food from.
I can get a decent meal here if I buy specials and cook it myself for around $1-1.50. It should be more like 15- 20c. Like it always used to be until the 'neo- economists' turned up.
True, but it's reasonably cheap to eat out in western restaurants, which probably accounts for the majority of foreigners eating habits in Shv . Meats and such can only be so cheap regardless of the country one is in. (not to mention subsidised industries in developped countries that keep meat and dairy product prices below or near cost in some cases.)

Sure, the demand for meat has risen with the new middle class wealth. Therefore prices have risen I think (hope) until the market catches up.

All this new wealth. All those lovely buildings and cars and ... Sorry can't think of anything else.

the supermarkets are pants here, and over priced, i save lots of money on cooking my own "breakfasts/lunches" and shit cooking some pasta or making some sandwiches/omlettes, cereal etc... but when you can go out and get a meal + Beer for $3 at snooky bar for example, its really not worth cooking at home half the time (being a single lad), although i am going to start attempting to try cooking more dishes at home

^^The two reasons I eat at home in Cambodia are mainly

1. I don't get food poisoning on my own food

2. I know what ingredients go into my food and that it's relatively safe.

Otherwise though, you're right, it is very cheap to eat out in Cambodia.

WTF is a cuddle brothel?

I used to use a pick up method that involved telling chicks how much I enjoy snuggling...worked everytime because spooning always leads to forking.
