Beware of the stealth suspension of happy hour

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

The issue is not the money but that they are scamming. At the least desperate. Better to take your custom elsewhere

Good business practice scam your regulars for a few cents so they don't come back. :please:

And $1:50 for a beer is alot, enough to scare me away.

OP, thanks for sharing, I'm sure it was a horrible experience that has left you traumatized.

Not sure if it was me, I'd never recover.

What? The overcharging or all the flak he got from members here?

No wonder so many people just read and never contribute.

I agree with your sentiment, but in this particular case, I don't think the flak that he got was too bad.

Not sure if I would call rescinding a happy hour offer "overcharging". I'd assume that they didn't advertise Happy Hour on that day any longer, so it was probably more a case of the OP - being a regular there - assuming that it's the same deal as always. If the total damage had amounted to a more substantial sum, I'd be more sympathetic tbh.
