Beers at Garage on the 31st of July from 18:00

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I wish there was an online racist test everyone could take to make absolutely sure they're not racist. :stir:
There are loads. Try one, I dare you.

I picked the first one on the list.
Optimisticly Openminded,
Are You A Racist?

You are about as open-minded as they come. It's a rarity, but you actually see people as being the same but having different circumstances and cultures. You think stereotypes only serve to dehumanize groups. If more people were like you the world would be a little less hateful.

Right so I'm Mother Theresa. O:-) What does that prove ?

I don't particularly feel targeted, but seems weird to me that you would suggest that CEO is a hotbed of racism. I'm sure that Samouth can make up his own mind about who's racist and where he feels comfortable.

Looks like they were almost spot on with you, one part myth, one part delusional. Only the scammer misses the mark. :hattip:

Hey Jamie, you can organise a small CEO meet up party in Sihanoukville and don't forget to let me know, i might join and at the same time i can pop in my family.
I was actually thinking the same myself. Lets get together and have a couple of beers. Suggestions as to where? Monkey Marks, Kihn Shack,Sky Bar or The Cove?
If Jamie is not organizing it i will do it when i am visiting my family. :) :beer3:
yeah sure i will get something organised for when i return, will set up a thread around a month before i arrive to discuss dates and venues as to what suits the masses :) will probably try and organise a littel gathering in PP as well

also Hi Jesse101, Welcome to the CEO side :)

Who are these guys ?

Post by Advocatus Diaboli »

These guys have been spotted on the 31st of July around 6 pm in front of the Garage bar.

First on the left looks suspiciously like Playboy.

Go Samouth , you let them taste it. Good for you.
Haha, I don't like calling people twat or pillock or whater but if people do attack or bait me there is no reason I would remain silent.
i remember a couple of months ago i was with one of my friends and she joking called me an "idiot" i burst out laughing and asked where she learned that word as most would just call you stupid, it just sounded funny coming out of a khmer mouth, im not sure why it tickled me so much but im sure its not a common word for khmer to use?

For me i do like using expressions, idioms, phrasal verbs, proverbs and slang sometime also colloquial. I am just like you when it comes to the language i love. i think you might like learning khmer as i like learning English. Recently i am using English more than khmer. that's why sometime i make some mistakes in writing khmer.

People always felt shocked, i meant native speakers and foreigners when i said words and phrases like

All work and no play make jack a dull boy

I just pulled your leg.

Let just play it by ear.

Can i have a rain check?

Puke up or throw up

Yesterday it was raining like cats and dogs.

I have to put the thinking cap on.

its great that you learn these, some make no sense through direct translation but they have an alternate meaning and because you understand it it is great!
