BEER CAN VALUE

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I like to do the twist and crunch. Only exercise I'm doing in April is curling 330ml till gone, Twist, crunch. Repeat.
I separate the cans from the food scraps & two youngsters from the hood come collect on my street everyday.
Here to serve. :beer2:

I'll collect my cans to give away. But why do the local stalls charge me 500 riel for my free beer?

Because either you haven't established a decent relationship with them yet, or they're just greedy c**ts preying on your naivety. Any stall holder trying to charge you extra on your winning beer pull tabs is full of shit because their supplier reimburses them.

It's such a small amount I just let it slide because I was only visiting. But I think you're right about building relationships, that's a process that will start when I return "for real" at the end of the month.

surely they would then get five times as much in a bag,but thenni guess theyd not be able to lift it...

I have a rule to never give these collecters money because they soon realise its more profitable to sponge of barangs

see a little kid collecting cans? jog on kiddy
I was crushing them one time and a local said they weren't worth as much if you did that, maybe it makes them harder to clean or something.

There is weird looking German guy who collects cans and bottles who hangs around in a laneway off 178. I saw him there a couple of weeks ago and he had dozens of sacks piled up, I don't know why.
