Baltimore....

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You really can't let your bias down to see that the crime he got hurt over wasn't this one can you?

The crime he got hurt over was a separate charge of resisting arrest... which is a much more serious crime than selling smokes. I know I know... that breaks your narrative. Sorry.

No bias at all. I have consistently pointed out fact after fact. The fact he pulled his arm away when a cop grabbed at it is NOT reasonable cause for another cop to immediately put him in a banned and lethal choke-hold, slam him to the ground, have 4 cops jump on top of him and continue to choke/crush him to death even as he says "I can't breathe 11 times".

I would think any reasonable person could understand this.

Did you even read the examples I posted about Good Policing vs what actually happened?

Cheers,

RD

Really can't understand why there are still some folks who seem to religiously believe the cops in good old US of A are somehow not trigger happy racists, and/or do not represent an institutionalized racist organisation.

As usual, the trigger happy killer cop lied at every stage of the proceedings and, as usual, the killers superiors and apparent 'independent counsel' covered up the lies to protect their own.

I know where all this hype about cops is going and its not a good direction. Nationalize the Police Force. And I do recall Obama saying something about this back in 2008.

CONSPIRACY!!! BURN HIM AT THE STAKE!!! TINFOIL!!! :hattip:

It's called free speech. If you don't like it, I can give you the address of a forum that doesn't tolerate it. ;)

I just want to talk more about Baltimore not the death of the lazy black guy who has 4 kids selling loose cigarettes in front of a stationary story who was warned multiple times to stop.

Fair enough, but my reaction was a guy gets arrested/killed for selling loosies, wtf?

Let's ignore the issue of whether he was killed by them or by whatever for a second.

Don't they have anything more important to do?

What kind of fuckwits think that selling loosies is a priority? And what kind of retard government thinks its priority is acting as a goon for the tobacco industry?

In this particular case, I can give the cop at least some benefit of the doubt. The "Victim" had a history of violent crime and turned out to be armed. He acted violently by pushing the door open violently against the cop and trying to do a runner.

Justifiable force? In a life or death situation that happened so quickly like that, it is hard to judge. It is also not clear if the "Victim" had shown his .38 as he got out of the car. If the Cop was aware of the .38 then he was fully justified.

That said and to your point, it is CLEAR that the cop lied about some potentially incriminating details and the so called investigation "whitewashed" these details as well.

I still don't have the same sense of outrage in this case, as opposed to the Eric Garner Case or the Baltimore Case.

Im going back to the ground zero to all this. Now I aint saying what that cop did was right...Oh no no no. What I'm saying is why is their a man standing outside selling loose cigarettes AT HIS AGE WHILE HE HAS 4 KIDS.

The stationary store owner had repeatedly told Gardner to leave over the course of days.

When they realized they can use the cops as a way to generate revenue.
