The AFP have a permanent presense in Cambodia , they probably don't have a lot to do with their time .

Correct me if i am wrong, but, when was the last time you heard of someone being refused entry into Cambodia? I mean, come on, and the odd person with visa issues doesnt count... or was that the case here afterall??
Two women were refused at the Koh Kong entry last March. Very much doubt they were bikies. Just looked like the normal backpacker types.

I think I remember a story last year of a black African woman coming here to start work at a school she was hired on at, being denied entry because she couldn't show proof of sufficient funds or something like that.

Black (and even the odd white) Africans, Middle Easteners & South Asians are regularly refused entry into Cambodia.

As has been stated, the DoI are not obligated to provide justification to anyone who they refuse entry to.

From my experience, and from what I have read Koh Kong is the worst border crossing on the Cambodian side and Poipet on the Thai side. I have read a poster on here say, basically, that you have to be a bit soft to pay the extra 5$ but when I tried to avoid it, and asked to take a photo of that laminated "official government order" they got super hostile, not fun with people who have so much power over you.
That was 2 years ago so may have changed but I now only exit from there.

In my experience Koh Kong is the worst entry into Cambodia - and it is more like $20 extra.
At one stage i was using that entry point quite often. I paid without complaint as i wanted no hassles into the future.
Plus i am a bit too long in the tooth to keep trying to buck the system every time.

Some people insist on paying the correct fee and get no big hassles - except an extra hours wait, and subtle but very clear sneers of contempt.

On the other hand, on my couple of random Poipet entries, i had no problem getting the right price after a simple, not angry, challenge to the inflated price.

6 members of the European Parliament were banned from entry in July for supporting fugitive Sam Rainsy.[1]

Nigerian comedian Idisi Akpobome was banned from entering due to insufficient funds. He thought they were extorting him for $1000[2] but most likely he misunderstood the situation and in reality they just wanted to see it like in the case of the Kenyan volunteer who was refused entry due to insufficient funds[3] when she was coming to volunteer for creepy expat Ramon Stoppelenburg who offers sensual massages for women and advertises for nudists to volunteer in his cinema where he would masturbate and watch them have sex on hidden camera[4]. This case was briefly mentioned by @Brody.

Cambodia is a fascinating country with every all kinds of temple.

I can't believe that only gets him banned for 3 years. Hopefully that's just the official ban and if he turns up again in 3 years they tell him to f off- surely?
