ATTENTION CEO COMMUNITY!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

ATTENTION CEO COMMUNITY!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?

Post by Jacket »

I've been contacted by a friend of mine who told me that the man in the picture below has gone missing. If you have seen him within the last 24 hours or if you are aware of his whereabouts please PM me. I am currently not in Cambodia, (if I was I'd be on the lookout for him myself) but I can contact a mate of mine who can help. The last time he was seen he was at lakeside and on his way to GSM. He's a kind soul and a friend of mine, so if you bump into him please tell him that Dave is worried and that he's looking for him. Thank you kindly for your time.

Note: This is an old picture. It is likely that he looks a lot rougher now than when this picture was taken.

He was last seen less than 24 hours ago headed to Golden Sorya Mall?

That's hardly "missing," IMHO.

That seems perfectly normal. I usually try to hide from anyone I know in Phnom Penh for at least 48 when I go to GSM.

Any reason Dave is so concerned about him in such a sorry amount of time? Has he failed to show up for something important?

I haven't seen him in a few years myself.

It is just very unusual for him that's all. No matter how wasted he got or who he ended up screwing, he'd usually always, always be at home the next day. Maybe I'm overly cautious, that is a possibility. But I'm not gonna sit idly by whilst there is a very real possibility that my friend might be neck deep in troubles. That is why I'm putting this out there. I'm sure that if he had internet access and was an active member of this forum, that he'd do the same thing for me if I just vanished without a trace.

Jacket, I do understand your concerns, but on the other hand it's Saturday today......so perhaps he's out having some extended fun. I myself have vanished for several days when I lived in Phnom Penh, and I AM a very reliable guy.......but it happens. Wait until tomorrow morning and he's probably back (battered but back).

I hope you guys are right, I really do. But I'd rather worry over nothing than sit back and chill whilst it is uncertain whether my friend has sufferd a terrible fate or gone out on a binge.

I don't want to fuel your fears, but indeed PP became a quite disturbed/worrying place. So literally everything is possible. But see it like this....even if you were here (in Cambodia) you couldn't do anything about it. For now, let's hope for the best. He'll be back tomorrow or latest Monday morning.

Ok.

I just sent a mutual Facebook friend of his a link to this page.

Maybe that will speed up locating him.

And how exactly would that be possible?

Is he by any chance a TEFL-er? If so, do you know where he's working? That could be helpful for your search.

From the picture, I'd say it's pretty certain he was/is a teacher.

I try to avoid the term 'TEFLer' myself, I feel it has acquired negative connotations due to one-upmanshippers.
