Are there still cheap rooms available in Sihanoukville?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Not been to Sihanoukville since the Chinese invasion.

Can you still find any rooms available around the 150p/m range for no frills room?

Not in town, no. A one bed apartment goes for $250 pm now. More expensive than PP.

Bit more than that usually.

BTW, a mate got notice that the rent on his 2 bedroom small house (85sqm) was going up in February from $500pm to $4000pm. He is moving to Klang Leu.

Probably. The front yard could be used as a restaurant.

Otres or Serendipity but seriously forget Snookie ruined by changes, and hit the Islands instead.

I saw one on facebook for that, what used to be a $70 apt. Where in Kleang Ler?

Klang Leu is the area on the other side of route 4 opposite the brewery, extending down towards Ream direction for a couple of kms. The place you get your work permits is there.

It is where most of the Khmer's and some Barang have moved. Land has gone from $20 to nearly $200sqm in some parts of the area in less than 2 years.

That is where the pump out trucks formerly dumped the sewage from cesspits.
