Are temple tourists massive snobs?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Are temple tourists massive snobs?

Post by Retardedwaitress »

I saw a chinese tourist check in alone in the lobby in siem reap and tryed to say hello she just completely blanked me and looked forward like a robot then she blanked the tuk tuks on the street. I personaly hate this robotic type of behaviour and would never stoop so low to blank my fellow traveler or even a tuk-tuk for that matter . I Aways aknowlegde them and never ignore i guess this keeps us from being a shitty russian, chinese zombie.

When I was working in Indonesia, we had a mixed office of Westerners, Indonesians, and Chinese Indonesians.

Some Barang was getting married to an Indonesian, and a Chinese Indonesian raised the question of why we Barang always come marry a local, but rarely a Chinese.

Your story explains it.

We would meet several Indonesians while out, but if you tried talking to a Chinese girl you'd almost always get the cold shoulder.
