Animal Shelter

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Post by 2be994510 »

Does anyone know if there are any animal shelters in Siem Reap for volunteers?

Why do you need to travel across the world (to a poor country) to do that?

Mind you the RSPCA (UK) kill over half of the animals they “rescue” so maybe your time is better off spent here!

Check FB.

Great. Another Vegan kitten saver. Siem Reap needs you.

I thought kittens are obligate carnivores. Oh wait, this is Cambodia. Even the cats here are powered by rice. Carry on, vegan kittens!

I find it amusing how many expats (of all ages) have dogs here and often puppies.

Unless you plan on staying here for at least the life of the dog (15 years?) don’t get one.

I think they think they look cool and unique with a dog sitting on the handlebars/lap/in a box/in a backpack etc.

Not only that but the amount of large dogs beggars belief. I know two houses across from me have large dogs on third floor and are never seen taking them out to walk. ( I know , I am not watching 24/7).
I walk Riverside and other streets from 5.30 each day and am noticing more dogs roaming about. Have had a couple get a bit aggressive but so far not been directly attacked.

Am considering a pepper spray or a tazar.
