Here's a recent picture of Mike at Sharky Bar on May 6:

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."

Re: RIP Mike Hsu of Sharkey's Bar
They are doing $1 Johnny Walker Black shots for Mike all week at Cadillac, and they are having something for him at Sharky Bar tomorrow morning at 9am.
He's also getting some love from Vietnam:

Re: RIP Mike Hsu of Sharky's Bar
From Sharky Bar Cambodia's Facebook page today:
"I'm sorry to say that Sharky Bar won't be open today (Monday 9th). All of us have had an extremely difficult 24 hours with a lot of grieving going on and bare minimum sleep. It's been brutal, a truly large flame has been extinguished. Heartbreaking, utterly heartbreaking. Big Mike walked up those steps to Sharky Bar like he did everyday and in the end they had to carry him out. He never walked back down those stairs. His spirit will live in that bar until the end of time.
We hope to open tomorrow, so those of you who loved Mike can come down and raise a glass or 16 to Mike and swap stories. So many stories...
All the staff at Sharkys will do our best to honor mike within the next week or so with some kind of celebration, it's going to take a little bit of time and planning to make sure we can make just as awesome as all the parties Mike threw. Penhstock, New Years eve parties, Sharky Bar anniversaries and everything else he hand in doing. I've never seen a man so meticulously plan a party like he did, but the proof was in the pudding, and that dude made sure everyone around him was having as much fun as he was, which was a fucking fuckload!
Please everyone, raise a glass to Big Mike Hsu, and if you have a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black to hand make sure you drink it like there's no tomorrow and make the Big Guy proud
In accordance with Khmer culture and Buddhism there will be another Buddhist ceremony for mike within or in a week, I will let you all know beforehand and MANY thanks to every person who showed up today to pay their respects to Mike. You're all beautiful people everyone at Sharkys thanks you deeply.
I wish i could write more, but it hurts.
Thank you Mike, you taught me and Shu a lot, we'll really miss you, buddy."

Re: RIP Mike Hsu of Sharky's Bar
"These are the last photos taken of Mike. It was his last night at the bar (May 7th) drinking his new favourite drink, the 'Car Bomb'
Half a guinness (ABC will do in a pinch), half shot of baileys with half a shot of jameson poured on top, and then thrown into the guinness, jaegerbomb style, and chugged. First glass down wins.
Mike partied to the very last second, all the way"

If he died at 57 in 2016, he'd have to be 10 in 1969...General Mackevili wrote:From Sharky Bar:frank lee bent wrote:Mike was on stage with Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock.

A case of anyone who remembered being at Woodstock not being at Woodstock?
