American Drunk Driver Injures 4 People on a TukTuk and Flees

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Local media always print the full names of barang wrong-uns. I wonder why this guy got away with only his first name published.

It might be his surname.

What kind of stupid name is 'David', anyway?

Looking at my FB posts, it seems the youth in their 20s arent impressed with foreigners continuous misbehavior. It will be interesting to see in the near future where wealthy foreigners run into spoiled rich kids in incidents of this nature.

Good point, I've noticed that on Facebook stuff I've seen. I tend to think the more foreigners that come here, by the law of averages incidents will increase. More foreigners being employed while young 20 something's can't get a job, more cash being flashed by tourists. Throw in a dose of nationalistic fervour by politicians exploiting the youth and I think you may see a gradually less hospitable place for foreigners to live. Exact same scenario as Thailand I believe over time .

It has been posted on the other site that the drunk American behind the wheel is Vic Boyle, former sales director for B2B magazine, now General Manager of SS Digital Media Advertising, whatever that is. Photos seem to match.

And now the character assassinations have begun.

However, as it turns out, Vic Boyle has an outstanding warrant in the US, and skipped bail in 2009.
Gavin should have been a detective. :beer3:

Ha! He's a fugitive? This is too crazy! So the local papers got his name somewhat right. They called him "David," he goes by Vic Boyle on Facebook, but his full name is Victor David Boyle.

There are so many American fugitives living in Cambodia they could have their own airline. Cambo Con Air.

Gen Mack once made a very funny suggestion to me -- go from bar to bar copying down the names of the expat proprietors off the business licenses on the walls. Then Google their names to see how many are fugitives.

Ha! They would fill a flight on Cambo Con Air for sure!

You'd think anyone with half a brain when on the run from an authority the last thing you would want to do is attract attention like driving a flash car in a poor country. Must be an American thang. :stir:
